I have served as the pastor of Christ Lutheran since July 2011. I love how our faith community serves children, youth, and adults both in our church and in our community. I served previously as a campus and parish pastor in California and a youth minister in Ohio and California. I graduated from California Lutheran University, Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary, the Graduate Theological Union, and recently received a Doctor of Ministry degree from Seattle University. I live in Ferndale with my husband Michael and son Tae.
I began working in the CLC office in the spring of 2004 and enjoy interacting with all the people who come into the office each day, members and visitors alike. Each person here has their own gift and give it willingly. CLC is a great place to work.
I currently live in the Mount Vernon area with my husband.
As a cradle christian growing up in a large church with a graded choral program, I have had a love affair with the music of the church my entire life. Martin Luther observed, the man who sings prays twice!
My ties to CLC go back more than 30 years, and so I am very excited to be a part of this musical team. There is a place for all in our music program and I look forward to encouraging all who desire a place with us to join, worship and have fun! Soli Deo Gloria.
I have been pianist / organist at CLC for a long time! I don’t remember actually when I began, but it must have been around 1980. At that time we were worshiping in what is now the Fellowship Hall. It’s wonderful to share the job for 9:00 a.m. worship with Sue Gault. I appreciate the dedicated musicians and the choir who add so much to our services. I am married to Gary. We are both retired teachers. Our family includes three sons and their wives, and eight grandchildren.
I joined Christ Lutheran Church in August 1968. My husband, Alan, daughter Laurie, and sons Tony and Andy joined at the same time. Son Tim arrived later. I was organist at Our Saviour’s, Stanwood for four years before attending Luther College, Decorah, IA where I received a Bachelor’s in piano performance and religious education; moved through Bozeman, MT, back to Seattle, then to Ferndale. I volunteered as organist shortly after arrival and have continued pretty much continually to the present. When will it end?
I joined the preschool staff as director in August, 2015. As I look back, upon my entire adult career, I have been called to vocations serving children, youth, and families and it is among these relationships that God uses me best and to which I feel most called. I thrive on affirming for children that they are known and beloved by God and journeying with them and their families in helping them become all God intends for them to be. So I am thrilled to be working with the preschool staff and families as together we do just this in a safe and supportive academic setting. I live east of Deming with my husband John, and daughters Sophia and Eleanor.
I have served as teacher at Christ Lutheran Christian Preschool since the fall of 1992. What I love about the preschool is that we are able to serve many different children and their families as their first “school experience” with Christian based values and beliefs being taught. I love that I can be a part of a great outreach within our community in which I live. I served previously as a member of the CLCP Board as my own children were attending preschool there. I live in Ferndale with my husband Myron.
I have taught preschool for 24 years and I have been here at CLC preschool since 1999. I attended community college in Oregon before I married my husband Mark. We have been married for 30+ years and have 4 grown daughters. One of the many things I love about Christ Lutheran Church is the wonderful people I have come to know. There is a great sense of community here.
I am excited to be at CLC Preschool this year! Born and raised in the Midwest, I have considered Whatcom County home since 1996. I am married and the mother of two boys who attended CLC Preschool. I formerly worked for the Ferndale School District. I look forward to continuing to work with so many great children and families at CLC Preschool.
